My tile and the underlayment had to be removed down to the subfloor, and we were told we would lose the subfloor to get the underlayment up as it was going to have to be jackhammered to get it out. My place is raised up on pilings, so I was expecting to come home to a massive hole where the floor should be, with my home exposed to the elements.
